While America’s opioid crisis and the Affordable Healthcare Act dominated health headlines in 2017, some of the most important health findings were either outright ignored or downplayed by the corporate-controlled mainstream media.
Here’s our pick for the top three most important health studies of the past year – those with the most potential to impact the health of the greatest number of human beings most dramatically.
Health Story of the Year #3: Record Levels of Aluminium Found in the Brains of Autistic Patients
This study may be small and preliminary, but its import is enormous. Autism is the neurological plague of modern children; it was once so rare it didn’t have a name before 1943 but today one in 50 children is autistic and the incidence is continuing to soar.
Unlike the mild and eccentric condition that a minority of sufferers have sought to portray autism as, the disorder often manifests as devastating brain damage in children who suffer from impaired communication, tics, seizures, gut pain and myriad other symptoms now increasingly linked to a hyper-stimulated immune system.
What’s causing the immune system and neurological damage is a big mystery, according to the Centers for Disease Control. Although some children may have genetics that predisposes them to the disorder there is no way that genes explain the explosion of the disorder; clearly environmental factors are at play.
So far, the CDC and public health officials worldwide have only scratched their heads about just what those environmental factors causing autism could be, although they’re patronizingly certain that the tens of thousands of parents who connect their children’s disorder to recent vaccination are just dead wrong. The implications that metals such as mercury and aluminum used in vaccines might play a role has been dismissed outright despite a wealth of studies demonstrating their neurotoxicity.
In 2017, scientists did what no one in public health has thought (or wanted) to do before: actually look for the presence of toxic aluminum in the brains of autistic patients stored at the Oxford Brain Bank. (As a curious side note, America’s own federally-funded brain bank managed to destroy the vast majority of its collection of autistic brains for research in 2012 when two alarms suspiciously both failed to warn when the freezers failed.)
Biochemist and top aluminum expert Christopher Exley and his team at Keele University in Staffordshire paired with experts from the Department of Clinical Neuropathology at Kings College Hospital in London and examined tissue samples from five deceased patients aged 15 to 54 who had been diagnosed with autism. Their study, published in the Journal of Trace Elements in Medicine and Biology, reported among the highest levels of the toxic metal aluminum ever recorded in human tissue – more than in patients with early-onset Alzheimer’s and dementia known to be induced by aluminum.
“The brains of all five individuals had at least one tissue with a pathologically-significant content of aluminium,” the study reports. The highest measurement of 22.11 was taken in one of the three samples from the occipital lobe of a 15-year-old boy and the study notes that “one has to question why…”
It’s a very good question, but given that animal studies in recent years have demonstrated that injected aluminum migrates from injection site to brain where it stays long-term, one also has to wonder just what role the increasing amounts of aluminum in vaccines play in the autism epidemic.
Kudos to the Children’s Medical Safety Research Institute, which funded these important studies which dare to consider troubling questions about the safety of ingredients injected into children. And now scientists in Europe are trying to crowdfund research on the safety of injecting aluminum in vaccines.
No surprise, the mainstream media, except for the renegade Daily Mail, gave this important study any coverage at all. You can read more about it here. Not a word to the public about a very important piece in the puzzle of the most troubling and explosive neurological disorder impacting children today. That tells you something about where to read your news in 2018.
Health Story of the Year #2: Vitamin C Cures Sepsis
This story got some attention in the mainstream media, but its tremendous significance was seriously downplayed.
Sepsis, sometimes called “blood poisoning,” is a global health problem causing 17 million to 19 million cases per year with about a 60 percent mortality rate. Millions of people die each year to this uncontrolled immune system response to infection in the body and not a single medical intervention to date has proven able to even slow its progression – with or without medical treatment, the odds are against survival. Until now.
Mark 2017 as the year that a mainstream doctor stopped saying “snake-oil” long enough to look seriously at what alternative practitioners and doctors in integrative medicine have been saying about vitamin C for decades: it works, and astonishingly so.
A study published in March in the journal Chest by Eastern Virginia Medical School’s Paul Marik et al who noted that three patients “almost certainly destined to die” from sepsis-related shock and organ failure, infused with vitamin C and moderate dose hydrocortisone, recovered remarkably and left the ICU in days, “with no residual organ dysfunction.”
Intrigued by that result, the team enrolled 94 matched septic patients into two equal groups: those who received a cocktail of 1.5 g vitamin C IV every 6 hours, hydrocortisone 50 mg IV every 6 hours, and thiamine 200 mg IV every 12 hours.
Four of the 47 (8.5%) of those treated with the cocktail died in hospital compared to 19 of 47 (40%) of those untreated.
These are exciting findings, but hardly surprising to ridiculed and ostracized practitioners of alternative medical and naturopathy. According to a 2010 Plos One study, they’ve been injecting vitamin C to treat infection, cancer and fatigue commonly for decades – and at doses far beyond what the new study used and with no evidence of harm except a few cases of irritated veins and nausea. Just how effective they’ve been is anybody’s guess because mainstream medicine and capital-S Skeptics would rather see billions of people die than try any intervention that drug companies have told them is quackery because they cannot patent it. They have obstinately refused to study high dose vitamin C for decades.
According to the clinicaltrials.gov website, several new trials of the powerful intervention are now underway from the US to Qatar and Australia as a result of Marik’s published results and we can expect to see the vitamin (along with the B vitamin thiamine in use a lot more as it is in Marik’s hospitals associated with Eastern Virginia Medical School where the vitamin C-steroid-thiamine cocktail is now a frontline part of their standard care for patients with sepsis.
“My colleagues, when I told them what was going on, thought it was the biggest lot of nonsense they had ever seen, but then they actually saw that none of our patients were dying,” Marik told a Critical Care Review audience recently.
He compared himself to poor Ignaz Semmelweis, the once-ridiculed Hungarian physician who pioneered the practice of handwashing and hygiene in medicine. Semmelweiss died in an insane asylum, locked up there by his colleagues who didn’t like his criticism of their dirty hands, he was beaten and died of sepsis.
Dr. Marik is rather late on the vitamin C train, however. Besides the thousands of naturopaths and integrative physicians and chiropractors who’ve prescribed high dose vitamin C for ages, and the millions of people who’ve made it the most popular oral vitamin in the world while mainstream doctors derided them for it, it was actually two-time Nobel laureate chemist Linus Pauling who deserves the credit for highlighting gram doses of vitamin C to fight illness – from way back in the 1960s.
Forty to 60 years, give or take a decade or so, seems to be about how long it takes mainstream medicine to consider anything outside of Big Pharma’s kit of costly, risky drugs. 2018 is upon us, however, and the future for vitamin C is looking brighter than ever.
The #1 Health Story of 2017: Vaccinated Children are Sicker Than Unvaccinated Children
Since it is perhaps the most ubiquitous medical practice of the modern age, with American children typically now receiving 50 doses of 14 vaccines before age six and many more into adulthood, you would think that carefully planned studies of each vaccine against a control would be done. And certainly that many studies of those who have received many vaccines compared to those who have received none would have been done long ago and many times. Right?
Not a chance. If you don’t believe it, try to find a single study of children who received all of the vaccines required by public health and those that have received none. They don’t exist because public health says it’s unethical to withhold vaccines so they cannot be adequately studied. They are assumed safe.
2017 was the year of the first-ever American-based pilot study of similar cohorts of children who were fully vaccinated against those who received no vaccines. And the results were astounding.
The first-of-its-kind study of the health of vaccinated vs unvaccinated American homeschooled children indicates vaccines have effects beyond stimulating an immune response that parents, scientists and doctors should be aware of and concerned about. Read more here http://hubs.ly/H07n_MF0

So while infection from vaccine-preventable diseases like measles and chickenpox have declined with the use of vaccines, as expected, the incidence of immune-mediated chronic diseases from allergies to autism and ADD have soared. And the immune-impacting practice of vaccination that all children receive has finally been questioned as a cause of the epidemic of unexplained chronic disease in modern children.
Once again, the Children’s Medical Safety Research Institute was a quiet financier of this important study and once again, the mainstream media was stone silent. Not a single mainstream story on research findings that potentially impact the health of literally every child and person on the planet.
Take heart, however, the vaxxed vs. unvaxxed study went viral and was viewed millions of times (not bad for a science article in the obscure Journal of Translational Science with zero mainstream media coverage). So were an in-depth analysis of it and spinoffs in the “fake news” arena that has proven to be the place to go for information when the story threatens corporate interests such as those of Big Pharma and public health. Rather than putting the brakes on it, the media blackout has only fuelled interest in the vaccine issue. Whatever side you are on in that debate, fasten your seatbelts. 2018 is going to be a bumpy ride.
